Custom made cooler from stock for high-end graphics card
-
Cooling always a big problem for all the CPU/GPU manufacturers. They try every possible way to kill some heat off their precious set of silicon chips to make them function proper & overclock well. Now days CPU/GPU users seeks beyond the limit & everybody wants more out of their hardware.

Shamino, The vrzone admin is one heck of a genius & made an almost DIY custom cooler for the nVidia GTX280 graphics cards.
Well this looks like the regular cooler for EVGA GTX 280, but if u notice on the top, there is a copper plate attached which isn’t the part on stock coolers of the behemoth’s cooler.

Now if u can watch closely the copper heatpipes are soldered on the top of the graphics card’s cooler under the copper plate sits.

Now he drills 4 holes & add 2 plates to hold the cooler which can be attached later to the card’s custom cooler.

Now one can attach multiple types of coolers to it but here our genius has used the CPU cooler on the GPU cooler but its ur choice to use any other cooler with it.

Well like i said, its ur choice to pick the cooler so DICE & LN2 enthusiasts can also join the club.
This is not only for GTX 280 cards, but if u can do some tweaking & have some creative thoughts, then u can also do it with ur card & u can post it here at www.techtrance.net.
No wonder this might be the next cooler option with EVGA or any other graphics card manufacturer might adopt it with some additional stuff but as far as the design goes, pure genius!
Hats of to u CPU/GPU!
