AMD back in overclocking game with Deneb

  • Ever since Intel launched Core 2 Duo, AMD has faced a great share loss in the market as in our rigs too. Due to extreme overclocking ability of C2Duo has becomes everybody’s favorite processor. Now AMD feels that it will be back in action with its 45nm Deneb core. Our good friens at coolaler.com has posted some good pictures ofoverclocked AMD Deneb & shows promising results at 4GHZ on air cooling from 2.1GHZ stock speed.

AMD officials says that the new Shanghai core will be better than the current Barcelona core since it is shrunken to 45nm and will boost performance up to 20% from the older Barcelona core.

Now as far as the overclocking goes, we believe that it might be a possibility that not everyone can rip that much of clock but atleast 3.5-3.7GHZ core clock is achievable & thats not it, with newer & better air/liquid coolers coming now days, one might be able to take AMD Deneb to more than 4GHZ ride.

AMD has already marked its presence into GPU market & it seems that they are not far to take on the CPU market.
